The Case
The Mondaine Evo2 is a classically-inspired watch from an iconic Swiss brand. Intended as a modernised version of the brand’s most loved style, the Evo2 has a 40mm golden stainless steel case whilst a sapphire crystal protector lends further sheen and a sense of steeliness. As a result of this somewhat more glamorous colour scheme, this version of the Evo2 feels dressier than other iterations.
The case of the Mondaine Evo2 has straight lugs and a proportional crown at three o’clock to make this a well-rounded and modern wristwatch that radiates elegant restraint.
Mondaine has a historic watchmaking pedigree and the brand’s watches are made with many years of Swiss expertise. They are created, always by hand, in the Mondaine factory in Solothurn, Switzerland. All Mondaine timepieces are tested for water resistance up to 30 meters and arrive with a 2-year international warranty.
The Dial
Always striking, Mondaine are known for their bold yet minimal dials and the Mondaine Evo2 does not disappoint. Using the classic Mondaine style, there are the signature bold indices and index hands as well as the all-important red second counter hand.
The dial itself is white while the indices contrast nicely in a gold tone that matches the case. The iconic Mondaine logo sits at twelve o’clock to set-off this Bauhaus-style dial to a tee.
The Bracelet
The brown leather strap of the Mondaine Evo2 lends the watch a retro flair that makes it ideal for daily use and more formal situations too. With a buckle closure, the strap of this watch is a sturdy yet elegant feature that is reliable in all scenarios.
The Functions
The Mondaine Evo2 runs on a RONDA 509 quartz movement. Famously reliable, this type of movement is especially accurate. The watch is also water resistant to 30m for rugged functionality.
