Ball Engineer III Outlier Automatic White Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men’s Watch DG9000B-S1C-WH
The Case:
The case is crafted out of 904L stainless steel, which takes a higher polish than other grades of steel and provides greater corrosion resistance - it was first used by Rolex in 1985. The case measures 40mm in diameter and 13.8mm in thickness. The body of the case has been treated to a polished finish, which gives it a mirror-like appearance. It also has a MuMetal shield coating, which attracts and then disperses stray magnetic interference for a resistance of up to 1000 Gauss
A grey steel bezel sits atop of the case, showcasing a 24-hour scale which allows the wearer to make use of the GMT function. Additionally the bezel’s coined edge finish ensures that it is easy to operate. An embossed screw-down crown is located at 3 o’clock, it is flanked either side by crown guards that prevent it from being knocked out of place. The sapphire crystal glass provides the watch with excellent transparency and optimum resistance to scratching and shattering. The solid case is engraved with a world time scale.
The Dial:
The white dial exhibits a refined layout through applied baton-style hour markers and a bold silver sword-style handset. There are 29 micro-gas tubes located throughout the dial on the hour, minute and GMT hands. The tubes are filled with tritium that emits electrons when they are energised by sunlight, in turn they give off a luminous glow for nighttime visibility. The dial also features an orange-tipped GMT hand, which allows the wearer to track two 24-hour time zones at once, thanks to a 24-hour rotating bezel and a dial calibrated to display the time on a 24-hour basis. A date-display window is located at the 3 o’clock position, it is magnified by a cyclops lens.
The Bracelet:
The Ball Engineer Outlier III is presented on a 3-link oyster-style 904L stainless steel bracelet. It has been treated to a vertically brushed finish, it fastens through the use of a fold over clasp.
The Functions:
Ball’s RRM7337-C calibre automatic movement powers this timepiece, it has a power reserve of 42 hours and an accuracy of +/- 4 seconds per day. It is COSC certified, offering a 1,000 GAU anti-magnetism rating and 5,000Gs of shock resistance. It is water resistant to 200m which means it can be worn diving. It is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.
