The Case:
The BALL Trainmaster Endeavour Chronometer is perfectly sizes for everyday wear with a 40mm case and a height of only 10.3mm. It features a stainless steel case with classic lines and smooth finishing. The lugs neatly curve down to hug the wearers’ wrist. The case back has been given close attention with a deeply etches image of Captain James Cook and his boat to honour the 250th anniversary of his first voyage. The case back is also engraved XXX/250 to reflect the watches limited run of only 250 pieces worldwide.
The Dial:
The striking white dial presents a timeless elegance to this piece. Upon closer inspection it is evident that the dial is made out of enamel. Due to its complicated process and fragility, enamel is typically reserved for very expensive timepieces. It is a precise art form involving fusing together soft glass made mainly from silica onto a metal layer using an extremely hot oven by skilled craftsman.
The roman numerals that surround the dial play into this historical design language. Furthermore the micro tritium gas tubes marking each hour around the dial have been given an appearance of aged luminous paint to reflect the vintage feel of the watch. These micro gas tubes provide superior brightness as they’re 100 times brighter than markings using luminous paint. Unlike conventional luminous paint, they do not need recharging from the sun, allowing them to glow for 25 years. The tubes feature bright green tritium, with orange tritium being used at 12 o’clock for easy orientation in the dark. The blued leaf hand set of the dial offer a level of sophistication and elegance that play well into the design. The thin seconds hand adds a nice level of detail with the BALL logo on the counterbalance. At the 3 o’clock position is a matching date wheel, blending nicely with the dial. Proudly situated at the 6 o’clock position is Captain James Cook’s signature. These stunning design elements are all protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The Strap:
This watch comes on a black crocodile leather strap with standard buckle to reflect its dressy nature. The crocodile strap elevates its elegance and creates a timeless classic timepiece.
The Features:
This watch is powered by an automatic BALL RR1101-C which is a Chronometer certified COSC movement which has undergone intense testing for guaranteed precision. Along with the hours, minutes and sweeping seconds hand, is the date.
Additional protection is offered as the watch has been carefully engineered to feature impressive shock resistance of 5,000Gs and anti-magnetic resistance of 4,800A/m. This watch features water resistance of 50m.
