Seiko Prospex Antarctica Monster ‘Save The Ocean’ Blue Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men’s Watch SRPH75K1
This timepiece is inspired by the landscape of the world’s largest marine sanctuary – Antarctica. The dial’s graduated colour and texture echo the white-blue views of the area created by light reflected on the ice, whilst the penguin footprints at the 10 o’clock position represent the dwindling numbers of its inhabitants. Seiko donates proceeds from these ‘Save the Ocean’ models to sea conservation and environmental organisations.
The shape of this watch is affectionately nicknamed the ‘Monster’ by Seiko fans – the bezel is said to resemble an open monster’s mouth bearing its teeth.

The Case:
The Seiko Prospex Antarctica Monster SRPH75K1 features a bold stainless steel case that measures 42mm in diameter. The case has been treated to a combination of brushed and polished finishes, which accentuates its unique shape. The case features a unidirectional bezel that features prominent indentations around its edge that resemble a monster opening its mouth. The bezel also displays a black 60-minute scale and a lume-pip at 12 o’clock. On the side of the case there is a crown at 4 o’clock, which allows the watch to sit comfortably upon, without the risk of the crown digging into the wearer’s wrist. The watch is equipped with hardlex crystal glass and a cyclops lens at 3 o’clock.
The Dial:
The dial is presented in a textured oceanic blue tone that is reminiscent of light reflecting off the ice in the ocean. It also features a set of penguin’s footsteps leading up from 5 o’clock to the shadow of a penguin swimming at 9 o’clock. Elsewhere the layout of the dial is simplistic, which ensures that it always remains easily readable. Bold baton-style hour markers are filled with Seiko’s lumibrite material which allows the dial to be read in the dark. The 12-hour scale is interspersed by a white 60-minute track which is located around the dial’s chapter ring. In the centre of the dial there is an oversized handset that is also filled with luminescent material. A day-date display window is located at 3 o’clock, whilst the Seiko logo is presented in white beneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Bracelet:
The Seiko Prospex Antarctica Monster is presented on a bold H-link stainless steel bracelet that has been treated to a brushed finish. It fastens through the use of a three-fold clasp, with a push-button for extender release.
The Functions:
This timepiece is powered by Seiko’s 4R36 automatic calibre movement, which offers a power reserve of 45 hours and beats at 21,600VPH. The expected accuracy of the movement is between +45/-35 seconds per day. It has a water resistance of 100 metres, which means that it can be worn when snorkelling.
