Its timepieces benefited from the brand's expertise in producing high-tech instruments, and soon enjoyed world-wide renown thanks to their reliability and quality. In 2005 Victorinox took over Wenger in order to keep the traditional company in Swiss hands, and managed it as a subsidiary company with its own identity.
