Rotary Super 7 SCUBA Automatic Black Dial Ceramic Bezel Silicone Strap Men’s Dive Watch S7S001S
WatchNation has worked in conjunction with Rotary on a new collection of dive watches; Rotary Super 7 Scuba. It was a project that was born out a personal passion and driven by a commitment to enable you to own a dive watch that was the best in its class and one that delivers on unprecedented levels of functionality and style. The collection consists of a range of classic dial options, which are available on either a silicone strap or a solid stainless steel bracelet. Designed exclusively for WatchNation, the aim of the collection was to provide you with a highly reliable dive watch that can handle any situation or terrain; from the depths of the oceans through to the formalities of the business world. Because we understand the importance of finding the perfect timepiece for you and the feeling that it brings when it is on your wrist.

- Automatic & Hand-Winding Movement Miyota 8205 With Day/Date
- Accuracy Of -20/+40 Seconds Per Day

The Case:
The Rotary Super 7 S7S001S has been designed to provide you with optimal precision and performance. A 42mm robust 316 stainless steel case houses the highly reliable Miyota 8205 movement. It consists of a mixture of highly-polished and vertically-brushed finished surfaces, creating a subtle visual barrier. An embossed ‘S7’ screw down crown is protected by a tapered crown guard, allowing for easy usability and functionality. The screw down case back, that features a deeply etched ‘Super 7’ logo, helps to provide the impressive 300 metres of water resistance. The case back also features an engraved serial number, making each piece unique. As any true tool watch should have, sapphire crystal glass has also been chosen due to its scratch resistant qualities, second only to diamond in terms of its durability.
The Bezel:
The sleek black bezel is crafted from ceramic, a material that is favoured by luxury watch brands due to its durability and longevity. The bezel will retain its eye-catching glossy finish, as it is scratch resistant and fade resistant qualities, which is therefore why Rolex began to use ceramic bezel inserts as opposed to aluminium. High-grade luminosity also features heavily throughout the bezel, as each of the markers and the diver’s dot illuminate when in areas of low light, improving the functionality of the watch. It is a 120-click and uni-directional bezel that allows for precise and smoother movement when rotated. Also, the tall sided bezel grip gives the watch an added statement of intent, while tying the piece back to its archived roots, as it allows you to easily rotate the bezel and measure elapsed diving time.
The Dial:
The black dial has a classic and technical appeal as it pays homage to the dive watches of the 1970s, when uncluttered design prevailed. Legibility was the central design code behind the layout of the dial. Deeply applied circular hour markers surround the dial, with rectangular hour markers at 12, 6 and 9 to ensure easy orientation of the dial at depths of even 300 metres in the ocean. High grade green luminosity has been generously applied to the markers to allow for readability even at the greater depths of the oceans.
Each of the three hands differentiates in size, to enhance the legibility of the dial. Each hand has also been treated to a luminous coating to allow for easy reading, while the minute hand features an orange outline and blue luminous hues to match the pip to easily differentiate dive timing from the rest of the dial. The lollipop second hand is an important feature as the lumed circular tip provides the wearer with confirmation that the watch is still running when in darkness or the depths of the sea. The ‘Rotary Super 7’ logo is positioned neatly beneath the 12 o’clock index, which features the quintessential orange accents that invigorate the dial. A sunken day-date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, and provides the dial with depth. Additional depth is bestowed on to the dial through the chapter ring that is home to a white 60-minute track around the edge of the dial.
The Strap:
This timepiece comes on a comfortable black perforated silicone strap that is both breathable and durable. Silicone straps have long been a staple feature of many of the market’s most reliable dive watches, due to their superior water resistant qualities. It comes in an accordion style and it features an engraved ‘Super 7’ extra-secure stainless steel buckle to ensure that the watch remains securely fastened on your wrist at all times. The maximum length of the strap is 27cm, allowing it to fit a range of wrist sizes, as it is easily adjustable. The accordion style strap allows for it to stretch over a wetsuit comfortably. The watch has a standard lug width of 22mm. The silicone strap proudly displays the Super 7 logo on the strap and the keeper to remind you that it has been specially designed for this watch.
The Functions:
Japanese made high-quality automatic Miyota 8205 caliber movement powers this timepiece. All parts of the movement are manufactured at Miyota’s Japanese plants, which enable them to ensure their quality. It consists of 21 jewels and it beats at a vibration frequency of 21600 per hour. Power can be supplied to the watch either mechanically, through the energy that is covered through the momentum generated by the swing of the wearer’s arm, or it can be hand wound by simply winding the crown. When fully charged it offers a power reserve of 42 hours. It has an accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day. Dual language is also offered, which allows you to either display the day in English or Spanish. The Super 7 Scuba collection has a water resistance of 300 metres, making each watch in the collection suitable for saturation diving.
