The Case:
The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon DM3200A-S1C-BK is housed in an ergonomic 42mm case that is crafted out of titanium - a material which has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all known metals. The body of the case has been treated to a brushed finish, while the chamfered edges of the case are polished, which accentuates the case’s robust profile. Sitting atop of the case is a stainless steel unidirectional rotating bezel that exhibits a count-up dive scale and a luminous pip at 12 o’clock. It also features a distinctive patented crown protection system that ensures that the crown isn’t knocked out of place. The case also features a mu-metal shield that enables 1000 Gauss anti-magnetic protection. It is made of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum that offers a very high magnetic permeability. The case is completed by a sapphire crystal that has been coated with an anti-reflective coating which eliminates the unnecessary light which causes glare and reflective distractions.
The case also features Ball’s pioneering elastomer ring (a pioneering shock protection system introduced in 2017) which enables the watch to withstand a free fall from 10 meters making it Ball’s most shock resistant watch. he elastomer ring surrounds the dial and mechanical movement, which allows the caliber crown stem, spring, and dial to move slightly while absorbing impacts. This system’s protective padding prevents parts from breaking while its unique structure absorbs and releases impact energy.
The Dial:
The dial is presented in black, exhibiting an uncluttered layout, luminescent sword hands, huge 12, 6 and 9 indicators and a magnified date window at 3 o’clock. The dial comes to life in the dark as the 28 micro gas tubes that are spread across the hour, minute, second hands and hour markers releasing electrons that give off a bright and long lasting glow. This system is around 100 times brighter than any other competing technologies.
The Bracelet:
It is presented on a tapered h-link bracelet that is crafted from a combination of titanium and stainless steel. It displays both brushed and polished finishes that bestows a visual contrast and enhances the overall aesthetics of the watch. It secures around the wrist through the use of Ball’s patented folding buckle.
The Functions:
This timepiece is limited to just 1000 pieces worldwide. It is powered by Ball’s RR1101-CSL calibre automatic movement, which consists of 21 jewels and has a power reserve of 42 hours. It is chronometer certified by COSC. It features a spring lock patented hairsping anti-shock system, as well as a spring seal patented regular anti-shock system. It is water resistant to 300 metres, which means that it can be worn when diving.
