The Case:
The Ball Engineer III NM9016C-S5C-BK1 is housed in a classic-looking 904L stainless steel case measuring 40mm in width and 11.5mm in height. The case is mirror-polished throughout and features minimal complications, allowing the craftsmanship behind the watch to take centre stage. It features a fixed circular bezel and an embossed screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. The sapphire crystal glass provides the watch with protection against scratches and shattering.
The Dial:
The black dial exhibits a simple, understated layout that is evidenced through baton-style hour markers and a silver sword-style handset. The hour markers and handset are both filled with tritium gas tubes, which provide the dial with a constant glow - the cardinal indices glow orange whilst the rest glow green. A date-display window is located beside the 3 o’clock marker, it is magnified by a cyclops lens. It also exhibits an elaborate counterweight on the seconds hand.
The Bracelet:
The watch is presented on a H-link oyster style bracelet that is crafted out of stainless steel. It showcases a combination of brushed and polished finishes. The bracelet fastens through the use of a butterfly clasp.
The Functions:
This automatic timepiece is powered by Ball’s RR1101-C calibre movement, offering an astounding 80 hour power reserve. It features 19 micro gas tubes on hour, minute and second hands and dial for night reading capability. It has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable to be worn when snorkelling.
