The Case:
The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon DeepQuest Ceramic DM3002A-S4CJ-BK is housed in a robust 42 mm monobloc case that is crafted out of titanium. A unidirectional green rotating bezel sits on top the case that is made out of ceramic, it showcases a luminous 60-minute count up track. The case also features a screw down crown at 3 o’clock that has Ball’s patented automatic Helium Escape Valve incorporated into it. This allows gases to escape as the watch resurfaces from the crushing pressure of the depths. The case is completed by scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass.
The Dial:
The black dial employs an uncomplicated two-step design which ensures that it remains readable even within the depths of the ocean. The outer dial exhibits tritium baton hour markers that illuminate in the dark, they are interspersed by a 60-second track. The inner dial features a partly skeletonised silver handset with tritium gas tube tips. A date display aperture is located beside the 3 o’clock marker, whilst the Ball logo is presented in white beneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Strap:
The watch is equipped with a tapered bracelet that is crafted out of stainless steel and titanium and has been treated to a combination of brushed and polished finishes. It fastens through the use of a fold over clasp.
The Functions:
The Ball DM3002A-S4CJ-BK is powered by BALL RR1101-C calibre automatic movement that has a power reserve of 42 hours. It is water resistant to 1000 metres and has a minimum magnetic resistance of 4800 A/m.
