The Case:
The Squale Sub-39 SUB-39GMTB.BR22is housed in a 40mm case that is made from that is made from polished 316L stainless steel, which is a material that is commonly used in dive watches due to it being extremely resistant to corrosion from elements such as seawater. A blue rotating bezel sits on top of the case; it exhibits a 24-hour GMT scale that can be used to display a second timezone. It also features a screw-down crown that is located at the 3 o’clock position. The anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal glass provides the watch with protection against scratches and shattering.
The Dial:
The dial is presented in blue with a sunbrushed finish, showcasing a highly legible design. It features a combination of highly luminous Superluminova C3 circular and baton-style hour markers that absorb and store light energy, subsequently emitting it as a glow in even the darkest depths of the ocean. The hour markers are encircled by a 60-minute track that is presented through thin gold baton-style minute markers. A white date wheel replaces the 3 o’clock marker. The silver framed baton-style handset is also coated in Superluminova C3 material. It also features a red GMT second hand that indicates a second time zone. The Squale shark logo, synonymous for reliable dive watches, can be found at the 6 o’clock position.
The Strap:
The watch is presented on a classic 3-link oyster style stainless steel bracelet that has been treated to a combination of brushed/polished finishes. It fastens through the use of a deployment clasp.
The Functions:
This watch is powered by a COSC certified Swiss-made Selita SW330-1 automatic movement that has a power reserve of 42 hours and operates at an accuracy of +/- 20 seconds per day. The watch is water resistant to 300 metres, meaning it is suitable to be used for professional/saturation diving.
