The Case:
The dimensions of this sleek brushed stainless steel case are very much comparable with those of many other modern sports watches. The case measures at 42mm in diameter and 12mm in height, which is a perfect ratio that allows for unparalleled levels of comfort when on the wrist. Moreover, the design of the case infuses modern trends, such as the dimensions, with more traditional features found on a field watch, such as the rotating bezel. This adds to the watches vintage feel. Also present is a screw down crown, embossed with the Victorinox logo, besides the 3 o’clock mark. Finally, anti reflective sapphire crystal glass has been applied, this both ensures maximum levels of legibility and protection from scratches and knocks.
The Dial:
Legibility appears to be the driving force behind the design of the dial. As is evidenced through the adoption of large lume filled Arabic numerals, as well as oversized lume filled sword hands that are set against a black dial. The inner dial of the watch displays the second time zone. It also features a third hour hand, with an aesthetically pleasing hollowed out circular tip. Likewise, a date window is positioned neatly besides the 3 o’clock mark. Also present is Victorinox’s famous red second hand, as well as the Victorinox logo that replaces the 12 o’clock marker.
The Strap:
Furthermore, the black leather strap provides this model with peerless levels of versatility. Whilst it is the perfect accompaniment for an outdoor adventure, due to its flexibility and comfort, it also imparts a sophisticated feel. The patina coloured sticking on the outer edge of the bracelet also completes the watches timeless feel. The buckle of the bracelet has ‘Victorinox’ engraved onto it.
The Functions:
Ronda 515.24H movement powers this timepiece, it is a highly dependable quartz movement that has been tried and tested. It has one jewelled bearing and it offers the wearer an accuracy of +/-10 seconds a day, as well as a power reserve of around 45 months. It also offers hand and automatic winding, as well as a hacking feature. This timepiece is water resistant up to 100 metres, so that it is suitable for snorkelling.
