L’Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU rappresenta una grande innovazione tecnologica nel design degli orologi subacquei. Dedicato alla Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) – un’unità della Marina degli Stati Uniti responsabile dell’implementazione delle regole operative per immersioni e decompressione per le Forze Armate USA – l’orologio NEDU è uno strumento di altissimo livello, con una straordinaria resistenza all’acqua e tecnologia abbastanza robusta per missioni militari.
La Cassa:
Il BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU è costruito in una robusta cassa da 42 mm con uno spessore di 17,3 mm. Questa cassa resistente è realizzata in titanio, garantendo la massima durabilità poiché è 4 volte più resistente dell’acciaio inossidabile.
La lunetta girevole unidirezionale è realizzata in ceramica nera pura cromata, che assicura la massima resistenza a graffi e corrosione. La lunetta presenta numeri luminosi sovradimensionati per una chiara leggibilità. Le profonde scanalature e i contorni ergonomici della lunetta garantiscono una manipolazione precisa. A supporto della lunetta ci sono due smussi tagliati nella flangia della cassa, che fungono da scarichi per espellere l’acqua intrappolata. Nessun dettaglio è stato trascurato, poiché il fondello presenta anche un motivo subacqueo che richiama l’emblema ufficiale della NEDU.
Al segnatempo delle 3 in punto si trova il sistema brevettato di protezione della corona di BALL, che garantisce i massimi livelli di protezione. Ancora più impressionante è la prima valvola automatica al mondo per il rilascio dell’elio integrata direttamente nella corona dell’orologio. Questa innovazione brevettata di BALL permette a elio, idrogeno e altri gas di fuoriuscire in sicurezza durante la decompressione, eliminando potenziali danni mentre l’orologio risale dalle profondità oceaniche.
Il Quadrante:
Il ricco quadrante blu riflette le radici acquatiche dell’orologio, con un layout ispirato agli orologi da aviatore grazie ai suoi sub-quadranti chiari e leggibili. I rivoluzionari tubi al micro trizio di BALL riempiono il quadrante per facilitare la lettura anche al buio. Le ore 3, 6 e 9 sono segnate da doppi tubi al trizio, mentre la posizione delle 12 è adornata da una coppia di tubi al trizio ultra-distintivi per un rapido orientamento nell’oscurità. In totale, ci sono 21 tubi al trizio che decorano il quadrante. Al segnatempo delle 3, l’orologio presenta un display giorno/data che fornisce queste informazioni utili al portatore.
Il Bracciale:
Il bracciale a 3 maglie rastremato in titanio e acciaio inossidabile aggiunge un piacevole contrasto all’orologio. Inoltre, il bracciale presenta una fibbia pieghevole brevettata e un sistema di estensione realizzati da un unico blocco di acciaio inossidabile per la massima resistenza. La fibbia tripla avanzata è perfettamente bilanciata per offrire un comfort senza pari. La fibbia e l’estensione sono state progettate con cura per essere operative con una sola mano.
Le Caratteristiche:
Il movimento automatico BALL RR1402-C è un calibro cronografo che misura e indica il tempo trascorso fino a 12 ore. La sua precisione certificata COSC è protetta da una resistenza agli urti di 7.500Gs e da una tecnologia anti-magnetica che consente fino a 4.800A/m.
Il NEDU è un cronografo subacqueo davvero performante con un’impressionante resistenza all’acqua fino a 600 m. Il cronografo è stato appositamente costruito per consentire l’uso completo dei pulsanti anche sott’acqua. Oltre all’ora, il quadrante mostra anche il giorno, la data e il tempo trascorso del cronografo.
