Pre-Owned Policy

WatchNation is an official stockist and most watches we sell are brand new, except for those in the pre-owned section of the website. All pre-owned watches are clearly identified as so with 'Pre-Owned' at the start of their title.

At WatchNation, most of our pre-owned watches are accompanied by a 12 month warranty dating from the day the order is made. This does not include watches classified as 'Poor' or 'Salvage' which are 'sold as seen' and therefore no warranty is provided. Our warranty protects your watch against manufacturing and mechanical defects, subject to the following terms and conditions. Our Warranty does not cover new watches that are covered by the Manufacturer's warranty.

The WatchNation Warranty does not cover theft or loss, normal wear-and-tear, damage caused by accidents, mishandling, mistreatment or negligence (including damage caused by failure to follow manufacturer and/or our instructions). It is important to stress that wear of the watch strap, glass, clasp and cosmetic damage are not covered by our Warranty.

If a third party carries out any tests or work on your watch (including, without limitation, dismantling your watch to carry out an inspection) without our prior knowledge and consent, your Warranty will be void.

The performance, reliability and waterproofness of your watch can be severely impacted by the use of aftermarket components. Modification of a watch by the addition or substitution of components by aftermarket products not provided by the manufacturer will render your WatchNation Warranty void.

If you make a valid claim against your Warranty, WatchNation will refund, repair or replace the product at our sole discretion. WatchNation will work toward the completion of any works carried out under Warranty in a reasonable timeframe based on the word required.

WatchNation reserves the right to make the final decision on all claims against our Warranty. In case of dispute in connection with the Warranty, WatchNation reserves the right to seek opinion from an independent third party watchmaker nominated by us regarding the issues at hand, though we are under no obligation to do so. The conclusion in the report to be provided by the third party will be binding as between the parties. It is important to note that the recommendations of the manufacturer are excluded for the purposes of the WatchNation Warranty, where such recommendations conflict with our advice.

For customers based outside of the United Kingdom, the payment of import duty or other taxes, fees and charges applied by customs or other authorities of your country for work done under Warranty will be covered by the customer. This applies particularly if you fail to complete all relevant declarations.

Delivery will be completed when WatchNation delivers the watch to the address stated in the order or when the watch is collected from our retail shop.

The WatchNation Warranty is personal to each customer and is non-transferable. The Warranty is in addition to your legal rights.

Due to the nature of pre-owned items, the returns eligibility varies among our pre-owned watches.

Those graded 'Excellent' or 'Good' come with a 30 day return policy. Those graded 'Fair' come with a 14 day return policy. Those graded 'Poor' or 'Salvage' are 'sold as seen' and are not eligible for any returns.

If you are within the allocated returns timeframe for your class of watch, please review the following terms. Though trying your watch on is fine and even recommended, in order to receive a full refund it is vital to return it in the same condition it was sent in, with original packaging and security tag, purchase receipt, warranty, and any other relevant extras that came as part of your purchase, such as spare links. Failure to do so may disqualify you from a full refund.

Our pre-owned watches are carefully photographed and videographed before being sent out and these will be referenced in the case of a return. We are unable to refund or exchange watches that have been sized by either the customer or a third party jeweller or watch specialist.

We recommend using Royal Mail or DHL tracked delivery when returning an item(s), with the customer covering the costs of this service.

To start the returns process, an email should be sent to customerservices@watchnation.com with the subject 'Refund/Exchanges'. Including the following information in the email, will expedite the returns process:

  • Order number
  • Full name
  • Reason for return
  • Confirmation that it is in the same condition you received it

Once the item(s) has arrived back with us we will check to see if everything is in order and whether you qualify for a refund. We do our best to process all refunds on the same day we receive them, but sometimes the relevant checks can take up to 7 days. Any refunds should be back in your bank account within 14 working days.

This refund policy applies only to watches/jewellery sold on our website. For watches purchased directly from our Hoole store, you should contact the store directly. Any watches/jewellery that arrive damaged must be reported within 24 hours of arrival.
