Introducing the Seiko Presage 60 Style Collection

Introduction
The Seiko Presage Style 60's collection encapsulates the vintage charm of the Seiko Crown Chronograph that was released in 1964, which was a milestone watch for both Seiko and Japan as it was their first chronograph wristwatch and the first watch equipped with a stopwatch function. This collection is by no means simply a homogeneous recreation of the original model, but it is an iteration that is a unique and creative take on a homage.

The Design
The Style 60's 'earth-tone' dial variations, vintage-effect box-shaped crystal and bezel design emanate a genuine vintage 60's feel. The case measures 40.8mm in diameter and it features downward-angled lugs, which allow the watch to sit comfortably around the wrist. The collection offers a series of watches with dials in a variety of 'earth-tone' colours: black, brown, ivory, blue and green. Each dial features bold, sharp hand designs and faceted indexes. Lumibrite material has been consistently applied throughout the series to offer enhanced legibility. In some models the Lumbrite material has been slightly faded in order to enhance the vintage feel of the model.
For the first time, Seiko Presage offers new creations with nylon straps that enhance the 60s style, while also bestowing some of the models with a more casual, everyday feel. Other models come on class oyster style stainless steel bracelets, which differentiates the Style 60's from original Crown Chronograph which came on a jubilee style strap. The Style 60's iteration are also different in that the series offers a date window, with a calendar function. In addition, three models from the collection offer a skeletonise design at the 9 o'clock position on the dial, which is also refereed to an 'open-heart' design, this allows the wearer to see the motion of the watch when worn.
