Seiko Japan Model Diver’s Pepsi Automatic 200m Silver Stainless Steel Black Rubber Strap Men’s Watch SKX009J1
This Seiko Japan Model Diver’s Pepsi Automatic 200m Silver Stainless Steel Black Rubber Strap Men’s Watch SKX009J1 is a classic piece of aquatic wrist-wear, with its stunning range of diving-specific features being offered at unparalleled level of value and construction quality. Firstly, a sleek black dial host a Seiko logo at the 12 o’clock position with a day and date window replacing the 3 o’clock position. Hands and indexes are coated in luminescent so that you can see at the dark depths of the ocean and sea. Also, at the bottom of the dial is the label of ‘made in Japan’, which is of-course Seiko’s home.
A silver stainless steel case surrounds the dial with a red and blue bezel, also known as a Pepsi bezel, sits on-top with the dial being further protected by hardlex crystal glass. Also, a unidirectional function is used as a safety function at the depths of the ocean. Furthermore, a recessed crown can be located at the 4 o’clock position to prevent any accidental knocks. Moreover, to continue the sleek theme, a black rubber strap sits fittingly around ones wrist, fastened by a buckle clasp.
Finally, a water resistance of 200 metres means it can be used for recreational scuba diving.
Made In Japan:
Firstly, for all you Seiko enthusiasts, this premium timepiece has been made and produced in Japan, indicated by the suffix ‘J’. Seiko watches made in Japan are notoriously hard to obtain outside of Japan due to the highest quality of craftsmanship and astonishing features that come in each individual timepiece. We have a range of Japanese watches here at Watchnation but in limited quantities, so if you are looking to add to your collection then this is the perfect place for you.
Seiko’s famous divers range is due to be discontinued soon making models like this one to be collectors models. The SKX soon built up a reputation for being the ultimate ‘beater’ watch and the line became increasingly diverse. Take for example the Scuba Master, which is the first computerised diver’s watch, which was released in 1990. However, the most definitive model of the range is the SKX007. It is known to be the cheapest and most reliable diver’s watch on the market. Seiko have since added models such as the ‘Sumo’ and the ‘Samurai’, which are must have pieces for any watch enthusiast. Although we will be sad to see the SKX go, its influence will not be forgotten.

The Brand: Seiko
Ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker’s art is what defines Seiko’s 135-year history. Firstly, by embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Also, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world. They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house.
