Why You Should Avoid Unauthorised/Grey Market Retailers

As the saying goes, “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” This is especially relevant in the watch industry, which has seen a rise in unauthorised or grey market sellers.

Be cautious of online shops that claim to sell 100% genuine watches directly from official distributors. If this were the case, they would provide a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Many unauthorised sellers operate exclusively online, offering attractive prices but potentially selling counterfeit goods.

At WatchNation, we purchase directly from the manufacturer, ensuring you receive a 100% genuine product, complete with a manufacturer warranty (2 years for watches and 1 year for jewellery). You’ll also enjoy the convenience of visiting our physical store in Chester, backed by our dedicated customer service and technical support teams.

Fossil Manufacturer Warranty

Enjoy peace of mind knowing your Fossil watch is protected by a valid manufacturer warranty. Fossil watches come with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, while jewellery items are covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty. This warranty ensures that repairs and replacements are covered according to Fossil's policies, providing a higher level of security for your investment. Typically, Fossil warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable period after purchase. If your watch malfunctions due to a manufacturing defect, Fossil will repair or replace it free of charge within the relevant warranty period.

Risks of Grey Market Sellers

Grey market sellers often offer limited or third-party warranties that do not provide the same comprehensive coverage as an official Fossil manufacturer’s warranty. Here’s why you should be cautious:

• Limited Coverage: Third-party warranties may only cover certain parts of your Fossil watch or have exclusions for specific types of damage.
• Authorisation Issues: Repairs under third-party warranties may not be authorised by Fossil, which could void the manufacturer’s warranty entirely.
• Customer Service Challenges: Navigating repairs or replacements under a third-party warranty can be difficult, especially if the warranty provider is based in another country.

Benefits of Buying from WatchNation

When you purchase your Fossil watch from an authorised retailer like WatchNation, you can trust that it is 100% genuine and comes with a valid manufacturer warranty. As an authorised Fossil retailer, WatchNation offers top-tier customer service and ensures a hassle-free experience if you need any assistance with your watch.
