Junghan Edition Sets are a commemoration to Max Bill and his "graphic series". The Junghans Max Bill Edition Set 2020 027/4018.03 is limited to a low amount of 222 units, these sets create a unique connection between two of the artist's creative slides: They combine his painting works with the simplistic design of products. The Edition Set 2020 comprises a max bill Chronoscope and a max bill Klein Automatic, which depicts the "variation 5" from the "quinze variations sur un meme theme" series on the case back. An additional work of art which shows "that precisely this type of art brings forth boundless possibilities".

The Case:
Both of the watches in this set utilise a stainless steel case which features a matte black PVD coating. The Chronoscope model, which is the model with two sub-dials, measures at a diameter of 40mm and a thickness of 14.4mm. In terms of the Kleine Automatic model, it comes in at a slightly smaller size of 34mm by 10mm. To further protect the dial, convex sapphire crystal glass features an anti-reflection coating on both sides, screwed glass case back with “variation 5” motif print from Max Bill’s first graphic series “quinze var-iations sur un même thème”. Each model feature the crown at the 3 o'clock position with the Chronoscope crown being guarded by two buttons used to access the chronograph feature.
The Strap:
Again the timepieces follow the same theme with two white calf leather straps that are fastened using a matte black stainless steel buckle. The set includes an additional black calf leather strap for each watch. All straps feature a quick-release function to facilitate quick and easy replacement of the strap.
The Dial:
Each dial shows of a classic matte black design. Dial markings come in a white style with an environmentally-friendly Superluminova luminous substance, allowing for easy visibility at night. On both watches the seconds are displayed using standard line markers adjacent to white Arabic hour indexes. Replacing the 3 o'clock index on the Chronoscope model is a day and date window whereas the other model features just a date window. As mentioned, the Chronoscope is so called due to its chronograph feature seen at 12 and 6 o'clock which is used to measure time separately, great for a run in the park. Furthermore, due to a stop second hand function, the timing can be ultra precise at all times. Each dial is then finished of with the ever present Junghans logo.
The Functions:
Both watches feature an automatic movement. The calibre used in the Chronoscope model is a J880.1 with a power reserve of up to 48 hours whereas the Kleine Automatic uses a J800.1 with a power reserve of 38 hours. A water resistance of 30 metres allows the watches to be subjected to light splashes.
