Seiko Prospex ”Glacier” 110th Anniversary Limited Edition Save The Ocean 3 Day Mens Watch SPB385J1
Seiko Brand Story
Established in 1881 as a watch and clock repair shop in Ginza, Tokyo, Seiko has grown and diversified over the years, but remains best known for its world- leading brands and expertise in fusing intricate watchmaking skill with elegant design.
Renowned for horological innovation with a stream of world firsts including the first TV watches, Seiko created the first ever quartz watch in 1969.
Seiko timepieces deliver precisely beautiful Japanese aesthetics, brought to life through total in-house manufacture.
Prospex collection story
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
This limited-edition, modern re-interpretation of the 1968 Diver’s watch is inspired by both Japan’s first hi-beat one-piece Diver’s watch created by Seiko as well as commemorating the 110th anniversary of Japan’s first wristwatch, as created by Seiko.
The success of the 1968 Diver’s model laid the foundation for Seiko Diver’s watch development which for sixty years has innovated in wearable, precise watches for professional and recreational divers. This modern watch is powered by the new in-house Calibre 6R54 and is the first of Seiko’s diving watches with mechanical GMT functionality. Built for wearability: the bracelet fits comfortably due to its low centre of gravity and short-pitch – and durability: with a three-day power reserve and high-quality scratch resistant Japanese ceramic Diving scale, its water resistance is up to 200m. This design of this watch is inspired by the ice of Antarctica, expressing the accumulation of time – linking the Antarctic history of Seiko diver’s watches with the time it takes for a glacier to form into its beautiful structure.
Its three-dimensional dial pattern and colour feature over 2,000 surfaces and have been designed to express the natural formations and pressure the glacier underwent during its long cooling period. The watch comes with both a bracelet and fabric NATO strap option – with the fabric strap being made 100% of recycled bottles. Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Reliable Automatic Movement: Powered by Seiko’s revered 6R34 automatic movement, the SPB385J1 ensures accurate timekeeping without the need for batteries. The self-winding mechanism harnesses the natural motion of your wrist to power the watch, guaranteeing precise timekeeping and eliminating the need for manual winding or frequent battery changes.
Robust Construction: Crafted with durability in mind, the SPB385J1 features a robust stainless steel case that measures 42mm in diameter and 12.9mm in thickness. The stainless steel bracelet complements the case seamlessly, offering a comfortable and secure fit on the wrist. With a water resistance rating of 200 meters (660 feet), this watch is ready for various water activities, including swimming, snorkeling, and recreational diving.
Distinctive Dial Design: The SPB385J1 showcases a captivating dial with a deep blue sunburst finish that exudes elegance and sophistication. Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the dial offers exceptional clarity and legibility. The luminescent hands and markers ensure easy readability in low-light conditions, enhancing the watch’s practicality and functionality.
Versatile Rotating Bezel: Equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, the SPB385J1 adds versatility to its design. The bezel features a durable ceramic insert, allowing for accurate time tracking and measurement of elapsed time. Whether you’re using it for diving purposes or simply as a stylish accessory, the bezel adds a touch of functionality and convenience to your daily activities.
Date Display: Located at the 3 o’clock position, the date display window provides at-a-glance convenience. You can easily keep track of the current date without the need for additional calendars or reminders, ensuring you stay organized and punctual in all your endeavors.
Attention to Detail: Seiko’s meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the SPB385J1. The watch features a screw-down crown, enhancing its water resistance and protecting against accidental adjustments. The transparent case back offers a glimpse into the intricate automatic movement, showcasing the fine craftsmanship that goes into each Seiko timepiece.
Versatile Style:With its versatile design, the SPB381J1 effortlessly transitions from casual to formal occasions. Whether you’re wearing it with a wetsuit or a tailored suit, this watch makes a statement with its combination of ruggedness and refined aesthetics.
Packaging and Warranty: The Seiko SPB385J1 comes in an elegant presentation box, making it an excellent choice for gifting. Seiko also provides a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty, ensuring your peace of mind and guaranteeing the quality and reliability of the timepiece.
