The Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU represents major technological innovation in the design of diving watches. Dedicated to the Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) – a United States Navy unit responsible for rolling out operational diving and decompression rules for the US Armed Forces – the NEDU timepiece is a tool watch of the highest order, featuring extraordinary water resistance and technology strong enough for military missions.
The Case:
The BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU is built in a robust 42mm case with a thickness of 17.3mm. This robust case is made from titanium, ensuring maximum durability as it is 4 times tougher than stainless steels.
The uni-directional rotating bezel is built from chromed pure black ceramic, which ensure maximum scratch and corrosion resistance. The bezel features oversized luminous numerals to enable clear legibility. The bezels thick grooves and ergonomic contours ensure precise handing. Supporting the bezel are two chamfers cut into the case flange, acting like drains to expel any trapped water. No detail has been overlooked, as the case back even features a diver motif echoing NEDU’s official emblem.
At the 3 o’clock marker there is BALL’s patented crown protection system, ensuring top levels of protection. Perhaps even more impressive, is the world’s first ever automatic helium release valve built directly into the watches crown. This patented BALL innovation allows helium, hydrogen and other gases to safely escape during decompression, eliminating potential damage as the watch returns from the depths of the ocean.
The Dial:
The rich blue dial reflects the watches aquatic roots, where the dial layout draws inspiration from aviator watches with its clear and legible sub-dials. BALL’s revolutionary micro tritium gas tubes fill the dial to assist with easy readability, no matter the darkness. The 3, 6 and 9 o’clock markings feature double gas tube markings, while the 12 o’clock position is adorned with a pair of ultra-distinctive gas tubes for quick orientation in darkness. In total, there are 21 tritium gas tubes adorning the dial. At the 3 o’clock marker, the watch features a day/date display providing it’s wearer with this useful information.
The Bracelet:
The tapered titanium and stainless steel 3 link style bracelet add a nice contrast to the watch. Additionally, the bracelet features a patented folding buckle and extension system that have been manufactured from a unique block of stainless steel for maximum strength. The advanced triple folding buckle is perfectly balanced to provide unmatched comfort. The buckle and extension have been carefully designed to be operational with only one hand.
The Features:
The automatic BALL RR1402-C movement is a chronograph calibre that measures and indicates elapsed time up to 12 hours. Its COSC certified precision is protected by anti-shock resistance of 7,500Gs and anti-magnetic technology allowing up to 4,800A/m.
The NEDU is a truly capable dive chronograph with an impressive 600m of water resistance. The chronograph has been specially constructed allowing for fully operational pushers while submerged underwater. Along with the time, the dial also displays the day, date and elapse time from the chronograph.

In this case, we will refund your order minus:

- Any customs, duty, tax or clearance fees billed to us by the courier
