The Case:

The case used on the Hamilton Jazzmaster watch H42535550 features a polished finish on stainless steel which glistens well in the light. At the 3 o’clock position is the crown which once pulled out can be used to adjust the time. Furthermore, the sapphire crystal glass sits in line with the case to allow it to reside comfortably underneath a shirt. The sapphire crystal provides the glass with protection from cracks due to its robustness.

The Bracelet:

The bracelet is made of calf leather and can be easily fastened using a standard buckle. The strap features stitching on both sides which brings out a classic feel to the piece. It measures a width of 20mm which is complemented well by the case.

The Dial & Functions:

Tradition meets innovation in the design of the dial. Roman numerals on the dial add a distinct style which goes well with the historic Hamilton logo seen just below the 12 o’clock index. It features a new two layer construction, with the lower layer displaying a gravel like texture. Additionally, the hands are coated in a luminous material which allows for easy visibility at night.

A three-hand movement boasts a superior power reserve of 80 hours, the H-10 appears with intricate contrasting snail and pearled patterns for the American Classic models it drives and streamlined surfaces for the pilots’ watches. Moreover, the piece features a new anti-magnetic NivachronTM balance spring which guarantees precise accuracy.

This watch has a water resistance of 50 metres, making it suitable for surface swimming.

The Family: Jazzmaster

The genre, Jazz, does not follow traditional musical formula. It tends to be freeform and is often improvised, which makes it a surprising and unpredictable music form. The Brand: Hamilton

Since its foundation in 1892, Hamilton Watch Company have developed a reputation for being a provider of accurate timekeeping. Hence they earned the title of The Watch of Railroad Accuracy, as a result of their highly accurate pocket watches. Hamilton earned themselves a place in history, as they found themselves suppliers of watches to the US military in both world wars. The US Naval Lab invited the Hamilton Watch Company to create an American made chrono. There was a shortage of chronos available to the US Government during the First World War. Therefore they had to rely solely on European made pieces. For this reason Hamilton agreed in 1941 to undertake the work.

By 1944 Hamilton had produced more than 10,000 Chronometers in aid of the American War effort. Hamilton have developed a close relationship over the years with Hollywood. They have featured in over 450 films, beginning in 1951 with the Frogman watch. Other films include: Elvis Presley in 1961’s Blue Hawaii and in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Furthermore, Hamilton have featured in films such as Interstellar and The Martian. In 2003, Hamilton moved their headquarters to Switzerland. They are still a global force within the watch industry. This is because Hamilton watches offer a combination of American heritage, Swiss internal workings and a touch of Hollywood flair.
