The Case:
The Maserati Sfidia R8871640002 is housed in a stainless steel case that measures 44mm in width and 11.2mm in depth. The case boasts a black fixed bezel that exhibits a rose gold tachymeter scale that allows the wearer to measure speed based on time and distance. The walls of the bezel have a coined edge finish. At the 3 o'clock position, you'll find a knurled rose gold screw-down crown bearing the Maserati logo, it is protected by a crown-guard which prevents the crown from being knocked out of place. Flanking this crown on either side are two polished rose gold push-buttons, granting the wearer convenient access to the dial's chronograph functions. The watch benefits from the durability of sapphire crystal glass, shielding it from both scratches and potential shattering. A solid engraved caseback ensures the case is securely sealed.
The Dial:
The black is configured with a chronograph layout, meaning it features additional complications to measure and display elapsed time, making it handy for timing events or intervals. This configuration includes three sunbrushed sub-dials positioned at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, showcasing a 60 second-display, a 30-minute display, and a 24-hour display. Rose gold baton-style hour markers and dauphine-style hands come with a luminous coating for enhanced nighttime visibility. Additionally, a date display is positioned at 3 o’clock, besides the Masserati logo.
The Strap:
The watch is complemented by a black adjustable silicone strap that features a textured pattern. It fastens through the use of a stainless steel pin buckle.
The Functions:
The timepiece is driven by precision and reliability, thanks to its Japanese-made quartz mechanisms. It also boasts a water resistance rating of 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming or snorkeling while wearing the watch, although it's not intended for diving purposes.
