THE DESIGN
The Inspiration Behind Its Creation
This special edition pays tribute to Hamilton’s military heritage.
The original FAPD 5101 was developed during the Vietnam War era, a time when Hamilton supplied timepieces to the U.S. Armed Forces under strict military specifications.
Designed for navigators operating in demanding conditions, these watches prioritised reliability and clarity.
The acronym FAPD, standing for Federal Aviation Procurement Division, reflects its dedicated role in aviation missions.

THE PROPORTIONS
36MM FIELD
A 36mm case, matte steel finish, acrylic box crystal and textile NATO strap give it the sort of compact, purposeful character a field watch should have.

THE MOVEMENT
CALIBER H50
The Hamilton Calibre H-50 is a hand-wound mechanical movement developed as an evolution of the classic ETA-based architecture, engineered to deliver enhanced autonomy and reliability.
Designed specifically for field watches, it offers an extended power reserve of up to 80 hours, allowing the watch to run for several days without winding.
Built with 17 jewels and featuring a Nivachron™ balance spring, it provides improved resistance to magnetic fields, temperature variations, and shocks, ensuring consistent performance in demanding conditions. Its manual-winding construction reinforces a traditional, tactile connection to timekeeping, aligning perfectly with the heritage-driven design of Hamilton’s Khaki Field Mechanical collection.
