The Case:

The case of this Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB210J1 is made from golden stainless steel and is a handsome, utilitarian offering that consists of well-proportioned dimensions, measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 13.2mm in depth. The case features a brushed finish which bolsters the functionality of this timepiece. It also features sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective inner coating on the inner surface, as well as a magnifier, which allow for optimum levels of readability. A solid screw-down crown and screw in display case back ensure for superlative levels of dependability and performance.   

The Dial:

The dial comes presented in a sunbeam forest green hue, consisting of a combination of golden Arabic numerals and arrow hour markers. The three o’clock marker has been replaced by a date-window display that is magnified 2.5x by a cyclops. The centre of the dial is occupied by a cathedral style handset, providing the watch with a traditional utilitarian feel. They partly consist of a luminous material which allows for readability in areas of low light. A rotating compass inner ring is present at the outermost edge of the dial, allowing you determine an approximate direction. The Seiko logo is present in gold beneath the 12 o’clock marker.

The Strap:

Crafted from brown calfskin leather and featuring contrasting stitching, the strap of this timepiece pays homage to the motifs of its 1959 original predecessor, providing the watch with an authentic feel. A three-fold deployment clasp with push button release securely fastens the strap around your wrist.

The Features:

Housed inside of the stainless steel case is Seiko’s 6R35 calibre movement which offers an astounding 70 hour power reserve and an accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day. The movement type is automatic with manual wind. The movement consists of 24 jewels and offers a hacking function that allows the wearer to accurately set the time.
