The Case:
The 43mm case of this Seiko 5 Sports SRPE80K1 model is made from stainless steel with a golden rustic style. This watch is part of a specialist style series which is based around and suitable for jobs which involve manual labour such as a watchmaker. The rustic theme continues on both the crown seen at 4 o’clock and the bezel. The crown is surrounded by a guard which will help prevent any knocks in the workplace. Furthermore, the unidirectional rotating bezel is perfect for timing a small task at work with an accuracy down to a minute. The bezel has small jagged edges which allow for you to grip and spin it easily. The case back is transparent, which allows the wearer to view the inner mechanisms of the timepiece.
The Strap:
The strap of the watch is made up of both silicone and brown leather. The inside of the strap is silicone, which is beneficial for the wearer, due to the fact it is softer and more flexible than many other strap types. The silicone strap has been lined on top with brown calfskin leather that provides the watch with a aura of sophistication and class. Also the watch fastens using a standard buckle, that has been embossed with the Seiko logo.
The Dial:
The textured black dial is perhaps the standout feature of the watch. It is complemented by the equally sleek white luminescent indices and hands, which allows for easy visibility at night. The hour hand comes in a cathedral style, whereas the minute hand comes in an arrow style, both have an elegant polished gold trim. The second indices are positioned within the chapter ring which is another subdued, but pleasing, touch. A day date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, this can be displayed in either English or French. The new Seiko 5 Sport logo is present beneath the 12 o’clock marker, whilst ‘automatic’ is displayed above the 6 o’clock mark.
The Functions:
The Seiko 5 Sports range boast Seiko’s new upgraded 4R36 automatic. It is the same movement that is found in more expensive Seiko models, such as the ‘Turtle’ that belongs to the Prospex range. The movement consists of 24 jewels and it operates at 21,600 beats per hour, this ensures the watch has 40 hours of power reserve. It includes Seiko Diashock, which essentially protects the inner mechanisms from any damage the watch may sustain if it were to be dropped or knocked. It is expected to either gain or loose between +45 / -35 seconds per day.
The watch also comes with a hacking function. When the crown is pulled out to adjust the time the second hand will stop. This allows you to set the second hand for precision timing. Once the crown is pushed back in the hands will tick from that second.
Finally, this watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling.

Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit.
This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally.
Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent
When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!
Simply type your wrist measurement (in inches or centimetres) into the bracelet size section of the checkout and we will ensure the watch bracelet is adjusted accordingly before being sent to you. We will include all the surplus links, with the watch.
How to measure your wrist
You can measure your wrist with a piece of string which you can measure against a ruler:
You should allow about half a centimetre (1/4 inch) of slack to prevent it being too tight on your wrist.
In the event of you needing an extra-long wrist bracelet, which requires an extension to the original watch, we must obtain extra links from the manufacturer, and in this event, we will contact you to inform you of any possible delays or applicable charges.
Watches with bracelets adjusted by WatchNation are still eligible under our refund policy.
Option 2. Buy the watch online from WatchNation and have it adjusted locally
If you wish, you can have it adjusted locally by another jeweller or key cutter. However, you will have to cover the cost of this option yourself.
