Description

Since its foundation in 1892, Hamilton has amassed a reputation as the ultimate provider of accurate timekeeping combined with stylish design. Named after Andrew Hamilton, a Scottish-born attorney who laid out and founded the town in which the company was founded, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the company was the leading American watch manufacturer for most the twentieth century. In 1912, the company began producing pocket watches so accurate that they earned the title of “The Watch of Railroad Accuracy,” resulting in 56% of all railroad watches in use being Hamilton made. This lead to the brand being bestowed with the prestigious rank of supplier to the US military at the outbreak of the First World War. American involvement in the Second World War saw Hamilton cease production of all consumer products, and its pioneering Marine Chronometer, produced and developed in little more than a year, became an invaluable navigational tool for the U.S. Navy. Hamilton in the post-war years has been defined by its unique and exclusive relationship with Hollywood. This began with the 1951 Frogman watch, and since then Hamilton timepieces have appeared in over 450 films, famously on the wrist of Elvis Presley in 1961’s Blue Hawaii, in 2001: A Space Odyssey and more recently in Interstellar, Men in Black, Lethal Weapon 4, Die Hard and the Martian. As a result of this relationship, Hamilton is now responsible for Hollywood’s annual Behind the Camera awards, celebrating the film crew’s without which the movie industry couldn’t function. As well as this, Hamilton is the official timekeeper of the Red Bull Air Race series and also enters a team into the competition. As of 1974, Hamilton has been a member of the Swatch group, with the results of this being the introduction of Swiss precision to the brand’s highly cultivated American Spirit. In 2003, all production and the company headquarters were transferred to a state-of-the-art facility in Biel, Switzerland. By relocating to the global capital of watchmaking, Hamilton has been able to continue its legendary legacy of timekeeping innovation, as well as benefitting from the very latest in watchmaking technologies. Still a global force within the timepiece industry, Hamilton watches offer an unrivalled combination of storied American heritage, Swiss internal workings and a touch of Hollywood flair.

The Hamilton Jazzmaster family contains several unique and outstanding variations on a theme. Ranging from pieces defined by their understated elegance and simplicity to bold statement watches, the Jazzmaster collection is as varied and as personal as the form of musical expression from which it takes its name. Classic styling easily sits alongside modern innovations such as Skeleton dials, as Hamilton manages to find a perfect balance between its legendary past and its exciting future, resulting in a range that is one of the company’s most enduring and popular currently in production.

This Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Men’s Watch (H32705731) offers a fleeting glimpse of its stunningly crafted automatic movement via the open aperture black dial, with this being paired by a refined brushed stainless steel case and sleek black leather strap. The painstaking craftsmanship that goes into producing a movement of this calibre is revealed in more detail by the transparent nature of the case back, resulting in a timepiece that looks as though it has been scuplted around the movement rather than having on inserted into it. Therefore, this timepiece possesses an alluring and timeless beauty that will still bring a smaile to the wearer’s face for years to come.

Free Strap Adjustment

It's important that your watch fits your wrist comfortably and looks great at the same time.

Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit.

This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally.

Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent

When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!

Simply type your wrist measurement (in inches or centimetres) into the bracelet size section of the checkout and we will ensure the watch bracelet is adjusted accordingly before being sent to you. We will include all the surplus links, with the watch.

How to measure your wrist

You can measure your wrist with a piece of string which you can measure against a ruler:

You should allow about half a centimetre (1/4 inch) of slack to prevent it being too tight on your wrist.

In the event of you needing an extra-long wrist bracelet, which requires an extension to the original watch, we must obtain extra links from the manufacturer, and in this event, we will contact you to inform you of any possible delays or applicable charges.

Watches with bracelets adjusted by WatchNation are still eligible under our refund policy.

Option 2. Buy the watch online from WatchNation and have it adjusted locally

If you wish, you can have it adjusted locally by another jeweller or key cutter. However, you will have to cover the cost of this option yourself.
