Description

Casio Edifice Quartz Black Dial IP Plated Steel Oyster Bracelet Chronograph Men’s Watch EFR-569DC-1AVUEF

At WatchNation we are proud to announce that the Casio Edifice Watch EFR-569DC-1AVUEF is a UK exclusive to ourselves. We have had a long and great relationship with Casio through the years with plans for it to continue for many years. The model itself is actually inspired by Japanese motor racing.

The Case:

The steel case measures at a width of 48mm and a thickness of 12mm, a common theme of Edifice models. The 48mm case is larger than the average watch which brings out its masculine side. The screws around the case seal up the dial to provide it with a water resistance of 100 metres, perfect for any swimming and snorkelling style sports. The bezel of the watch is fixed, which adds to the durability as most watches tend to have an attached bezel. Additionally, the case is raised slightly which provides extra protection to the mineral crystal glass. In-between each screw is a small black groove which gives the timepiece another dimension.
Furthermore, the crown can be seen at the 3 o’clock position with a guard on either side. This guard is used to protect the crown from being knocked out of place by any sporting activity. The crown as well as two buttons either side are coated in a gold IP style.

The Bracelet:

The steel bracelet contributes greatly to how the watch looks and feels. The black tone of the bracelet comes from a process known as ion plating. Ion Plating is a process where the surface is bombarded by atomic sized energetic particles. Experiments have shown that this method is up to eight times more durable than conventional methods. The bracelet has a width of approximately 20mm which is complemented well by the large case. It has a maximum length of 24cm which would even fit those built for the toughest of sports. The bracelet style is similar to that of the original Rolex Oyster with three links combining to make one.  The bracelet can then be securely fastened using a one touch three fold over clasp.

The Dial:

The dial hosts an analogue display with three hands for the hours, minutes and seconds. The Casio and Edifice logo can be seen next to the 3 o’clock position which is a unique yet common alignment in Edifice watches. Just below the logo at the 4 o’clock position is an easy to read date window. The stopwatch, alongside the hands, are powered by a quartz SR920SW. This battery allows the watch to have an accuracy of +-20 seconds per month. Around the edge of the dial are golden indexes which have been coated in a luminous material, allowing them to be visible at night. Additionally, adjacent to the index markers are second markers placed on the chapter ring to complete the dial.

Functions:

The rest of the dial features three sub-dials, of which make up a precise chronograph feature. This is where this watch really comes into its element with it being able to be used for a quick run in the park or an intense 10,000 metre race at the Olympics. The measuring capacity has an accuracy down to a tenth of a second as seen in the dial positioned at 12 o’clock. The measuring capacity for this timepiece is one hour with three modes being available to choose from. The three modes are; elapsed time, split time and 1st and second place time.

The Family: Edifice

Casio’s Edifice collection takes its aesthetic inspiration from F1 cars, resulting in a collection of timepieces that combine dynamic form with intricately detailed watch faces. Furthermore, higher end models feature Casio’s exclusive Multi Mission Drive movement. Each watch features five separate motors to ensure that power is never diverted from the hands. In summary, each watch offers ‘Speed and Intelligence,’ as well as precision engineering.

The Brand: Casio

Casio was established in 1946 by Tadao Kashio. The company entered the watch market in 1974 with the release of the Casiotron, which was the world’s first Auto Calendar watch. Casio reshaped global thought about the functions of a watch, this began with the release of the G-Shock family.

Innovation and world firsts have defined the company’s history. The most striking of these is the first ever touch screen watch in 1991. Also, the first ever wrist camera watch in 2000. Casio have been producing smartwatches decades before the term ever came into circulation. Casio has cemented its reputation as a reliable and precise name in the watch world.

Free Strap Adjustment

It's important that your watch fits your wrist comfortably and looks great at the same time.

Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit.

This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally.

Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent

When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!

Simply type your wrist measurement (in inches or centimetres) into the bracelet size section of the checkout and we will ensure the watch bracelet is adjusted accordingly before being sent to you. We will include all the surplus links, with the watch.

How to measure your wrist

You can measure your wrist with a piece of string which you can measure against a ruler:

You should allow about half a centimetre (1/4 inch) of slack to prevent it being too tight on your wrist.

In the event of you needing an extra-long wrist bracelet, which requires an extension to the original watch, we must obtain extra links from the manufacturer, and in this event, we will contact you to inform you of any possible delays or applicable charges.

Watches with bracelets adjusted by WatchNation are still eligible under our refund policy.

Option 2. Buy the watch online from WatchNation and have it adjusted locally

If you wish, you can have it adjusted locally by another jeweller or key cutter. However, you will have to cover the cost of this option yourself.
